DataMon Privacy Policy

Effective 24 October 2026 · Updated 24 October 2026 to cover Android

DataMon is a virtual pet game for iPhone, iPad and Android, made by Tinus Christian Creeper ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information DataMon uses, why, and the choices you have. It applies to every version of DataMon; where something works differently on iPhone/iPad and Android, it says so.

In short: DataMon has no accounts and doesn't ask for your email, phone number or real name. Your game stays on your device. We never sell your information, and DataMon doesn't track you across other apps or websites. The only things that leave your device are what you send when you play Online Battles or report a player, and what Google's ad service receives when you choose to watch an ad.

1. Information that stays on your device

2. Online Battles (optional)

If you use Online Battles on the DataMon Public Server, your device sends the following so other players can see who they're battling:

Battle moves are passed between the two players while the battle runs and are not stored. The server sees your IP address while you're connected, because that's how the internet delivers data. It uses it only to deliver the connection and to limit abuse while you're connected, and doesn't store it. Player names are filtered for offensive words.

3. Reports and blocking

After an online battle you can report a player for misuse of their DataPlayer or Pet picture. Reporting also blocks them on your device. A report sends the reported player's random ID, name, level, DataPlayer picture and Pet picture, plus your own random player ID and the time. We use reports only to review the pictures and, if needed, to replace a picture with a default one or to ban a player from the Public Server for a period of time. The decision (which pictures were approved or denied, and any ban) is kept so it keeps applying. Your block list stays on your device.

4. Ads (Google AdMob)

DataMon shows a rewarded ad only when you choose to watch one, for example for Free Shekel. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad loads, Google may receive information such as your IP address, device type and settings, and how you interact with the ad, to show the ad, measure it and prevent fraud. On Android this can include your device's advertising ID. DataMon doesn't share your game data, steps or name with Google, and on iPhone and iPad it doesn't ask for permission to track you.

5. Children

DataMon is rated 9+ on the App Store and is not designed for children under 13 on Google Play. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Online Battles only share the DataPlayer name and pictures the player chooses, and names are filtered. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us information you'd like removed, contact us and we'll delete it.

6. Your choices

7. How long we keep information

Online battle data isn't kept after the battle. Reports and the decisions made on them are kept on the server only as long as they're needed to apply those decisions; a ban record ends with the ban. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
